There are a wide range of opportunities to help our school.  You can sign up to volunteer using our General Volunteer Form or sign up for an upcoming event using one of the links below.

Community & Outreach Events

Welcome Back Picnic:  Thanks to all those who made our first school wide picnic a giant success.  See you next year!

SFUSD Enrollment Fair:  Thanks to all the community members that came to help with our booth at the enrollment fair this month.  You Rock!

School Tours: School tours have been scheduled for October 16th, November 13th, and December 4th.  We are looking for a parents from each department to help guide the tours together with a few students.  Click HERE to sign up!

Halloween Movie Night: Student Government is hosting a Halloween Movie Night and we are looking for a few volunteers to chaperone this event and to sell Ruth Asawa SOTA merchandise.  Sign up HERE.

Dia de los Muertos Festival: Alvarado Elementary School is looking for 10 high school volunteers to help out at their annual Dia de los Muertos festival on Sunday, October 29th from 10:30am-3pm. Volunteers will assist with face painting and the various arts stations. Food will be provided by Little Chihuahua. Chamber Music:  Our Fall Celebration of Chamber Music combines the talents of our Piano, Band, Orchestra and Vocal Departments! Help with ushering and concessions. Friday, October 27th at 7:30pm.  Click HERE to sign up!  ****

Stories from Home:  The Vocal Music Department presents "Stories from Home" a collection of folk music from around the world that speaks to deeply rooted traditions and the joy, love, and sometimes even sorrow we share with those places we call home.  Help with ushering and concessions. The PROMO TEAM is looking for volunteers to help spread the word about all our amazing shows through out the school year! That means putting up posters and distributing postcards on bulletin board in cafes, libraries, etc. in your neighborhood or work place.  

The PROMO TEAM is also looking for tech-savvy volunteers to help with our digital outreach. It's a lot of fun and really helps our students and teachers.

Help make our school more beautiful!  Once a month on a Saturday morning, the community gathers to help with the general maintenance needs of our school, create beautiful murals, garden and just tidy up!
